Personal care in Kingman

Personal Care Assistance in Kingman, Arizona

Bathing, dressing and grooming are private routines. When they become difficult, our caregivers step in carefully and without fuss \u2014 non-medical help with the parts of the day that matter most to someone's comfort and dignity.

What personal care covers

Personal care is assistance with activities of daily living: getting out of bed, washing, dressing, using the bathroom, moving safely from room to room, and getting settled again at night. It is physical, practical help — not treatment.

This matters to say plainly: 444 Home Care provides non-medical personal support only. We are not a nursing agency, and we do not perform clinical procedures, administer medication or manage medical conditions. When something medical is needed, that stays with your parent's health-care providers, and we work around their instructions.

Signs personal care would help

  • Bathing is being skipped, or it feels unsafe to do alone
  • Clothes are being worn several days in a row because dressing is hard
  • Getting up from a chair or the bed has become a struggle
  • Grooming, shaving or hair care has quietly stopped
  • There has been a fall, or a near-fall, in the bathroom

How we approach it

We ask how your parent likes things done and follow that: which soap, which side of the bed, which time of morning, how much help is welcome and how much is not. Preferences are written into the care plan so a caregiver is never guessing.

Pace matters as much as technique. Rushing a shower is how people get hurt and how they lose their sense of independence, so visits are scheduled with enough time to move slowly.

Frequently asked questions

Is personal care the same as nursing care?

No. Personal care is non-medical assistance with everyday routines such as bathing, dressing and grooming. We do not provide nursing, wound care, injections, medical treatment or medication administration.

Can a caregiver help with bathing safely?

Yes. Caregivers assist with bathing and showering, including steadying support getting in and out, and can arrange the routine around the time of day that works best.

Will caregivers give medications?

We provide reminders only. A caregiver can prompt that it is time for a prescription and help keep the routine on schedule, but administering medication is outside our non-medical scope.

What if my parent resists having help with personal routines?

That is common, and it is why we start small. Often a caregiver begins with housekeeping, meals or transportation, and personal care is added once trust is established.
